Programs

Pasco County recognizes the importance of volunteers within its communities.  Volunteers enhance established County programs and provide customer focused services.  Volunteer programs help forge a strong bond between local government and citizens and encourage participants to contribute to the improvement of their community which creates a sense of ownership and pride.

No community is immune to the confusion and devastation caused by disaster.  Within the last decade, there has been a growing appreciation of the necessity for community participation in disaster response support. When disaster strikes, trained volunteers become critical players in the field of emergency response for many local governments and can assist with critical tasks when called to take action. The Pasco County Office of Emergency Management offers volunteer programs that are geared to educate our citizens so that they may best serve their community during times of disaster.

Our community volunteers help build a culture of safety and are an additional element in disaster preparedness, response, and management.
