Returning Home after the Disaster

When returning home, keep safety first in mind.  Wind, rain and
flooding can cause structural, electrical and other hazards in the
wake of the passing storm.

Be patient, since access to affected areas will be controlled.  You
won’t be able to return to your home until search and rescue
operations are complete and safety hazards, such as downed
trees and power lines,
are cleared.

I harder hit areas proper identification may be required to reenter.
Ensure that you have current identification with you, as well as a
recent utility bill, lease, or proof of ownership.
