APPENDIX C - Repetitive Loss Area (RLA) Maps and Mitigation Efforts
Pasco County received its repetitive loss property printout from the Federal Emergency Management
Agency (FEMA) Regional Office in Atlanta, Georgia. Four hundred twenty-five repetitive loss properties
were contained in this printout. These properties were then located on the property appraiser parcel maps
with the flood zones delineated and the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD)
contours referenced. The repetitive loss areas were then defined by using the elevation of the repetitive
loss properties as a boundary.
Through evaluation of the repetitive loss property locations, map information, and site inspections, it was
determined that 18 repetitive loss areas existed in Pasco County. Other repetitive loss properties
contained in the repetitive loss property printout are included in this report as mitigation project areas.
Since corrective measures were taken in the mitigation project areas, they are not considered repetitive
loss areas.
