Winds

Hurricane force winds, sustained winds of 74 mph or more, can
destroy buildings and mobile homes.

Sustained winds are defined as wind speeds that last at least 1
minute in duration. During hurricanes, this refers to the surface
winds occurring at the center of hurricane circulation no more
than a height of 33 ft.

Winds often stay above hurricane strength well inland and make
debris flying missiles.  If you do not have to evacuate, it is
extremely important to secure your home, windows, and all doors
(including garage doors) before the storm.

Remember, mobile homes and manufactured homes are
extremely vulnerable to high winds and should be evacuated
regardless of their location in Pasco County when a evacuation
order is issued.

National Hurricane Center for more information.
